Pronunroid is an educational game designed to make practicing English phonetics more engaging. It focuses on practicing IPA (International Phonetics Alphabet) transcription of English words with a General American accent. The app consists of four main parts:

• Guess symbol: This game presents you with three words that share a phonetic symbol which you must identify.
• Guess pronunciation: In this game, you are given a written word and asked to write its pronunciation in IPA.
• Guess spelling: Here, you are provided with the IPA pronunciation of a word and required to write the corresponding word, enhancing both pronunciation and spelling skills.
• Look up word: This feature allows you to search for the IPA pronunciation of a word.

Pronunroid is tailored for English as Second Language (ESL) learners, with the option to reference the symbols used on Wiktionary. The app currently features the 2000 most common English words in its games. However, users can explore the pronunciation of any word using the search function. When Wordnik recognizes variations in pronunciations, all variations will be provided.

PERMISSIONS

The application necessitates internet access to download pronunciations and sends anonymous statistics about its usage. Additionally, external storage permission is required for relocating the app to an SD card.
